  1. Go to AWS Management Console
  • Find EC2
  • Select EC2

  • Select Edit

  • VPC, select window-lab-smm-vpc
  • Subnet, select window-lab-smm-public1-us-east-1a
  • Auto-assign public IP, select Enable
  • Firewall (security group), select Select existing security group
  • Select Security group default

  1. In the Summary step
  • Number of instances, enter 1
  • View the description of the instance
  • Select Launch instance

  1. Instance initialization successful
  • Select View all instances

  • Number of instances, enter 1
  • View information about the instance
  • Select Launch instances
